History of Random Curry on a Random Wednesday....

November 2009 - November saw Random Curry's 2nd birthday held for a 2nd year at Bengal Berties and the traditional Costco birthday cake. Unfortunately Joe Mallon was not able to attend which meant we were saved from the noise he made the previous year......

August 2009 - A 3rd visit to Bengal Berties was a very intimate affair - with the recession seemingly hitting people for that spare £15. However an enjoyable evening was had by all and it did mean the service was a little quicker than usual!

July 2009 - An intimate event in Cockfosters at Anuraag saw the event mainly attended by the Wolfmeister clan but the food at the restaurant affectionately known to us as 'Anal Rug' was delish! Those that didn't make it missed out on a great meal!

June 2009 - After a long absence of curry after no May event and a Chinese in April, the curry crew journeyed to North Finchley to try out the delights that Hebah had to offer. It was a good evening apart from the distinct lack of naan bread due to newcomer Zoe seemingly disposing of everyones portion. Hear me now, Keema naan.

April 2009 - April saw the first ever Random Chinese on a Random Wednesday held at Chopstix Exchange in Whetstone. This historic night also saw the first live screening of an England world cup qualifier as England beat Ukraine 2-1 on a large fuzzy screen. Amazing.

March 2009 - March saw a return for the popular Everest Tandoori. Another solid performance from Everest will surely see them in the running as finalists for the Random Curry on a Random Wednesday - Curry House of the Year award.

February 2009 - The first event of 2009 was held in Spice Bollywood, Whetstone. Mr Yuchetel made his obligatory yearly appearance much to the dismay of the majority of Random Curry fans!

December 2008 - We visited Lahore Restaurant in Hendon for the Random Curry Xmas Party and it was a very successful evening which ended with a few shandys in The Claddagh Ring. Lahore is the spicy shash!

November 2008 - November saw Random Curry's 1st Birthday party which was held at Suruchi Restaurant in Barnet. Suruchi was voted as the Random Curry on a Random Wednesday Curry House of the year for 2008 in an online poll and were presented with the honour by founder members Will & Jamie.

October 2008 - October saw a smaller gathering after the previous month's New Arjun Tandoori disaster visit Everest Tandoori on Honeypot Lane in Stanmore. Everyone agreed that this restaurant was the absolute shashlik, the food was good, the staff were nice and it was a great evening and a favourite with many of the members.

September 2008 - September saw 28 (thats 28, not 30 Mr Arjun Tandoori) visit New Arjun Tandoori in New Southgate. It was a good turnout and if it were not for the company a good evening but this restaurant won't go down as a favourite for the Random Curry fans. This event will mainly be remembered for the restaurant trying to serve beer which expired 3 years ago. New Arjun Tandoori's beer and food was anything but new you could say!!

August 2008 - August saw the Random Curry crew hit New Barnet's Blue Ginger and 25 members turned up to enjoy some pure Shashlick. Lots of new faces but will Mr Shears ever be forgiven for turning his back on Random Curry for a holiday to France?

July   2008 -     At the start of July around 20 members took a stroll to Guru Tandoori in Finchley Central. This event saw many new faces of whom we hope will become regular Random Curryers. The event turned slightly sour when Mr Mallon decided to stick the complementary chocolates on his face and Jackie Chopstix went ahead   and licked them off. Everyone was slightly shocked and disturbed but the night was a good one.

May 2008 - In May the Random Curry gang tried out Cannons Tandoori in Cannons Park, Edgware. Thankfully Mr Yuchetel did not decide on making another appearance as most people like to keep their relationships with 'The Yuchster' to a bare minimum and in the interest of Random Curry   - appearances are best kept low.

April   2008 - April saw a slightly more 'intimate' event on the return to Bengal Berties   than the March event   but all members were delighted by the shock appearance of a certain Mr Adam Yuchetel. Hopefully this will not be a regular occurence from 'The Yuchster' but once in a blue moon is just about ok.

March 2008 - March saw us visit the award winning Day of the Raj in Mill Hill, London. Once again records were broken with an attendance of 34! A great night had by all!

February 2008 - Event 4 was held at Suruchi Restaurant in Barnet. Despite the efforts of Tom Culkeen and his lost mobile phone, over 20 Random Curryers enjoyed the evening.

January   2008 - The third event was held at Bengal Berties in North Finchley, London. Once again the attendance nearly doubled with 19 members turning up to stuff curry down their mouths.

December 2007 - Random Curry on a Random Wednesday go global with the purchase of the domain randomcurry.com. Wow.

December 2007 - The Second event was held at Sizzle n Spice in Oakwood, London. This event saw a record attendance of 10 members sit down and enjoy the delights of curry. What a memorable evening.

November 2007 - The official Random Curry on a Random Wednesday website was created.

November 2007 - Random Curry on a Random Wednesday was formed. The first event was held at Barnet's Spice Carriage. The founder members include The Random Wolfräga, The Shears, Beef, Bubble, Perry and Cullen.
